Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has revealed its strategic investment blueprint, Project Aspire, with a massive planned capex of ₹1.70 lakh crore. The Chairman & Managing Director, G. Krishnakumar, shared this ambitious roadmap during the company's Annual General Meeting. The investment framework entails allocations of ₹75,000 crore for Refineries and Petrochemicals, ₹10,000 crore for Green Energy, ₹20,000 crore for Marketing expansion, ₹25,000 crore for City Gas Distribution (CGD)/ Gas business, and ₹32,000 crore for Upstream activities.
Krishnakumar emphasized BPCL's commitment to sustainability by outlining plans to bolster its network of fuel stations nationwide, with a specific emphasis on establishing EV charging infrastructure. Furthermore, the company is dedicated to ramping up its renewable energy portfolio and actively exploring opportunities in green hydrogen, biofuels, and compressed biogas.
Notably, BPCL has set an ambitious target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
