Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has announced a massive Rs 1.7 lakh crore investment plan over the next five years. The focus of this investment will be on expanding core oil refining and fuel marketing business while also venturing into new areas such as petrochemicals, green energy, and digital initiatives. This strategic move, under 'Project Aspire,' aims to enhance the company's operations and pave the way for future growth. BPCL is committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, with a detailed plan that includes investments in renewable power, green hydrogen, and carbon capture technologies. The company is also set to ramp up its renewable energy capacity to 10 GW by 2035. Furthermore, BPCL is investing in petrochemical projects, notably the ethylene cracker project in Madhya Pradesh and the polypropylene production project in Kerala.
