CryoCollect, a CO2-focused cleantech startup based in Paris, has successfully raised €4 million in funding, with investments from Engie New Ventures and GTT Strategic Ventures. The company, established in 2017, specializes in developing technologies for gas treatment, purification, and liquefaction, targeting gases like biomethane, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen. CryoCollect's focus lies in capturing, purifying, and liquefying carbon dioxide from anaerobic digestion off gas, enabling the production of liquid biogenic CO2. This sustainable CO2 can replace fossil CO2 in various industrial processes, including applications in the Food & Beverage industry and the production of synthetic fuels. The CEO of CryoCollect, Haytham Sayah, expressed excitement in partnering with Engie and GTT, recognizing their shared commitment to accelerating the energy transition and aligning with CryoCollect's technology portfolio. Engie New Ventures' Managing Director, Johann Boukhors, highlighted the significance of CryoCollect's technology in carbon management, emphasizing the role of recycling CO2 natural resources in advancing the energy transition. Additionally, Camille Bonenfant-Jeanneney, Managing Director of Engie Renewable Gases Europe, praised CryoCollect's energy-efficient CO2 capture technology for enabling zero emissions from anaerobic digesters, thus supporting the decarbonization of the industry through biogenic CO2 valorization.
