The European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Luxembourg are set to sign a guarantee agreement for €1.95 billion to support investment programmes under the Ukrainian Fund in the EU's multiannual budget for 2024-2027. This agreement aims to unlock the potential of private investments in Ukraine, focusing on urgent recovery and reconstruction efforts. The guarantee will be directed towards key sectors such as energy networks, hydrogen technologies, renewable energy, and urban public transport development. Projects will also cover modernization of the Ukrainian railway, transport connectivity improvements, municipal infrastructure and public institutions upgrading. The agreement includes deploying an advisory team of experts in Kyiv to assist in preparing and implementing key projects. This initiative aligns with the priorities outlined by the Ukrainian government in the Ukrainian Plan, which is part of the €50 billion Ukrainian Fund in the EU's budget. The goal is to support Ukraine in its recovery and development efforts, with a specific emphasis on critical sectors and infrastructure improvements.
