Hy2gen Canada Inc, a subsidiary of Hy2gen AG, has been selected by Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE) to receive a block of electricity to produce green hydrogen and ammonia in Baie-Comeau. This project, developed over the past 4 years in collaboration with the Baie-Comeau community, aims to contribute to the decarbonization of Quebec, economic development, and job creation in the region by establishing an industrial ecosystem. The electricity for the plant, supplied by Hydro-Québec through the Courant project, will enable the basic engineering phase to begin, with construction planned to start in the second half of 2026 and green ammonia production by 2029.
