Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal announced that India aims to attract over $500 billion in investments by 2030, with a focus on clean energy sectors such as renewables, green hydrogen, electric vehicles (EVs), and infrastructure transitions. The IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum, held in New Delhi, gathered top investors, clean economy companies, and startups to drive investments into sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Key outcomes included the launch of the IPEF Catalytic Capital Fund, which aims to deploy financing for clean economy infrastructure projects, and agreements for green hydrogen production. Indian companies and startups showcased innovative solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation, aligning with global investment trends and sustainable energy transitions. The event emphasized partnerships with global investors in the CleanTech and Infrastructure sectors to help India achieve its Net-Zero target by 2070. Nivruti Rai, Managing Director of Invest India, highlighted the Forum's role in fostering a transition to a clean economy in the Indo-Pacific region, emphasizing India's commitment to sustainable development and economic progress.
