Powerhouse Energy Group PLC has announced the award of a front-end engineering design study contract by National Hydrogen Ltd of Australia for a new project in Western Australia. The Bingley, England-based company, specializing in non-recyclable waste-to-energy conversion, already has an existing licensing and royalties agreement with National Hydrogen. The contract, valued at £350,000, was assigned to Powerhouse's engineering consulting division Engsolve Ltd. The site, acquired from the Western Australian government, is strategically located in East Rockingham, south of Perth, making it ideal for both electricity and hydrogen consumers. Data collection is set to commence in December, with the FEED study scheduled for January. Once the study is completed, National Hydrogen will proceed with a planning and permitting application for the site. CEO Paul Emmitt expressed satisfaction with Engsolve's appointment for the study, highlighting its significance for revenue generation and relationship building. The CEO anticipates a promising future for both companies in 2025, not only in advancing the Western Australia project but also exploring new ventures. Despite a slight dip in Powerhouse Energy's shares on the London Stock Exchange, the company remains optimistic about the collaboration with National Hydrogen and the potential growth opportunities it presents.
