RWE Supply & Trading has secured a significant long-term green ammonia supply agreement with AM Green Ammonia B.V. The deal involves the supply of up to 250,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually from AM Green Ammonia's production sites in India. The ammonia will be sourced from facilities in Kakinada and Tuticorin, with an initial production of 50,000 tonnes at the Kakinada site and the rest from Tuticorin. These facilities will be powered by carbon-free energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, ensuring compliance with EU standards for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin. Deliveries are set to begin in 2027. Both RWE and AM Green view this agreement as a strategic move to support industries in achieving climate goals and transitioning to cleaner energy sources. Costas Papamantellos from RWE emphasized the company's commitment to hydrogen and low-carbon derivatives, while Mahesh Kolli from AM Green highlighted the importance of innovation and clean energy solutions in driving global transformation.
