This collaborative effort involves companies like Petronas-backed Amplus Ganges Solar, Sembcorp Industries’ Green Infra Renewable Energy, Acme Green Hydrogen and Chemicals, and ReNew Energy’s subsidiary ReNew E-Fuels. The initiative aims to position India as a key player in green hydrogen production, in line with the nation's goals of moving away from fossil fuels and reducing carbon emissions. The project will be located at VO Chidambaranar Port in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, taking advantage of the region's abundant solar and wind energy resources. The first phase of the project is expected to attract investments amounting to Rs 41,860 crore and is planned to be operational by 2028.
