The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ohmium to establish a new electrolyzers and green hydrogen factory in Chengalpattu district, with an investment of Rs 400 crores. This initiative is aimed at creating 500 job opportunities in the region. As part of efforts to boost the state's economy and industrial growth, Tamil Nadu is actively seeking investments to achieve the goal of becoming a USD one trillion economy by 2030. The state government has set up several development centers to ensure widespread development and is focusing on utilizing human resources and skills for growth. In a recent visit to the USA, the Chief Minister signed MoUs with companies like Nokia, PayPal, and Google, attracting investments worth Rs 900 crores, which are expected to create 4,100 jobs in cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai. The MoU with Ohmium signifies the state's commitment to green hydrogen production and sustainable development. Ohmium, a company specializing in green hydrogen production, has a global presence and expertise in scalable Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer systems. The event in San Francisco, where the MoU was signed, was attended by senior government officials and industry representatives. The collaboration with Ohmium highlights Tamil Nadu's dedication to industrial growth, job creation, and environmental sustainability.
