Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions business segment of Cummins Inc., has revealed its latest advancements in decarbonizing technologies at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo held in Las Vegas. The new products launched by Accelera include enhanced hydrogen fuel cell engines, an innovative eAxle, and a flexible battery platform.
Accelera's new generation of fuel cell engines, the FCE300 and FCE150, offer improved power density, system efficiency, and durability. These engines are designed to cater to a wide range of applications in both mobile and stationary settings. The company showcased its 300kW fuel cell engine and a heavy-duty truck equipped with the FCE150 engines and the latest eAxle at the ACT Expo.
The 14Xe eAxle technology introduced by Accelera boasts increased energy efficiency and versatility, with a strong emphasis on safety and cybersecurity. This technology is aimed at heavy-duty 6x4 applications as well as medium-duty and school bus applications.
Accelera's BP104E battery platform, based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, offers high modularity and fast-charging capabilities. With an energy capacity of 104kWh and a maximum voltage range of 830V, the BP104E is designed to set new standards in energy storage for the transportation sector.
These new products by Accelera are part of their commitment to accelerating the transition to zero emissions, offering innovative solutions in both hydrogen and electrification. The company's diverse portfolio, which also includes nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) and LFP battery packs and high-powered traction motors, aims to facilitate a seamless shift to lower- or zero-carbon applications for customers.
