Key Ideas
  • AFVi introduces new hydrogen training course focusing on safety practices and essentials for vehicle technicians working with hydrogen fuel systems.
  • The course is available in three delivery modes: live in-person, live online, and on-demand e-learning to cater to different learning preferences.
  • Future plans include Level 2 training for inspectors and a certification program for technicians, showcasing a commitment to continue developing hydrogen training resources.
The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi) has unveiled a new hydrogen training course at the ACT Expo in Las Vegas. The course, titled 'Level 1: Hydrogen Vehicle Essentials and Safety Practices,' is designed to educate vehicle technicians on safety requirements, procedures, and best practices when working with hydrogen fuel systems. AFVi's CEO, Annalloyd Thomason, expressed excitement about meeting the demand for hydrogen training while maintaining high standards similar to their natural gas vehicle courses. The course, aiming to enhance knowledge and skills for maintaining hydrogen-powered vehicles, will be available through live in-person, live online, and on-demand e-learning formats. Interested individuals can already register for the live online course scheduled for June 13. Moreover, AFVi is actively working on developing Level 2 training for fuel system inspectors and a certification program for technicians interested in specializing in hydrogen. The organization encourages those attending the ACT Expo to visit their booth and explore collaboration opportunities. For those unable to attend, more information can be found on AFVi's website or by contacting them directly.
