The Australian government is taking proactive measures to stimulate investment in the renewable energy sector by introducing legislation that offers tax incentives for renewable hydrogen and critical minerals. The proposed law aims to provide a 10% tax incentive on processing and refining costs for 31 critical minerals from the fiscal year ending in 2028 up to 2039-40, with a duration of up to 10 years per project. Additionally, the legislation includes a tax incentive of A$2 per kilogram of renewable hydrogen produced during the same period.
