The British Embassy in Lima, in collaboration with H2 Peru, presented the Proposed Regulation for the Promotion of Green Hydrogen in Peru. This initiative, held at the Westin Hotel in Lima, gathered over 100 participants from various sectors to discuss the regulatory framework for the hydrogen industry. The proposal, a result of a joint effort between H2 Peru and the British Embassy, was developed by the Hydrogen Technologies Unit of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, encompassing 12 regulatory titles covering the certification and export of hydrogen. The structure of the regulation ensures compatibility with Peru's existing laws on energy, industry, and infrastructure. The event highlighted Peru's potential in hydrogen-related matters, aiming to decarbonize strategic sectors and boost economic growth. The British Ambassador to Peru and the president of H2 Peru emphasized the importance of this initiative in meeting Peru's environmental goals and fostering economic development. The proposal, with meticulous details and input from various stakeholders, sets the stage for Peru to emerge as a global leader in the hydrogen sector. By aligning with international best practices, Peru seeks to capitalize on the emerging opportunities in the hydrogen economy and drive a sustainable energy transition.
