SEFE and Höegh Evi Partner to Develop International Clean Hydrogen Supply Chains for Europe
Key Ideas
  • SEFE and Höegh Evi signed an MoU to develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen for Germany and Europe.
  • The agreement aims to analyze technical and commercial feasibility of clean hydrogen supply corridors based on ammonia.
  • SEFE will manage the supply portfolio and downstream supply chain, while Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure and floating import terminals.
  • The partnership is set to contribute to the energy transition in Germany and Europe while creating new pathways for decarbonization via global hydrogen market corridors.
German energy company SEFE and FSRU-owner Höegh Evi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop international supply chains for clean hydrogen, particularly for Germany and other European locations. The partnership focuses on analyzing the feasibility of clean hydrogen supply corridors based on ammonia. SEFE will handle the supply portfolio and downstream chain, including sourcing clean molecules globally and investing in the German hydrogen core grid. On the other hand, Höegh Evi will provide midstream infrastructure, connecting Germany to global hydrogen markets through transportation of ammonia and floating import terminals. These terminals will supply clean hydrogen for industrial customers using Höegh Evi’s ammonia-to-hydrogen cracker. Both companies aim to contribute to the energy transition in Germany and Europe by establishing global supply chains for cost-competitive clean hydrogen and creating new pathways for decarbonization.
