Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. has announced that its Greek subsidiary, Advanced Energy Technologies SA, has been awarded a grant from the EU Innovation Fund to develop innovative fuel cell and hydrogen technologies. The project, known as RHyno, focuses on establishing infrastructure for manufacturing fuel cells, electrolysers, and key components at a megawatt scale. This initiative aims to utilize innovative materials to enhance power density, lifespan, and reduce the weight and volume of power systems, crucial for decarbonizing industries like aviation, maritime, and heavy-duty automotive sectors. The project also includes the construction of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to optimize production processes and boost efficiency in fuel cell and electrolyser technologies. Advent Technologies' HT-PEM fuel cells, with over 100 patents, enable the use of green eFuels, renewable natural gas, or hydrogen across various sectors including stationary, portable, data center, and heavy-duty mobility markets. The EU Innovation Fund, one of the largest funding programs for low-carbon technologies, aims to support the commercial demonstration of innovative solutions to decarbonize Europe and accelerate its transition to climate neutrality. Advent's success in securing this grant highlights its position as a leader in the clean energy transition, with a focus on driving innovation in fuel cell and hydrogen technology.
