Air Liquide is set to make a groundbreaking investment in Baytown, Texas, by committing up to $850 million to construct and operate four Large Modular Air separation units as part of a strategic partnership with ExxonMobil. This investment, if finalized, would mark Air Liquide's largest industrial investment to date and significantly increase oxygen production capacity in Texas. The project aims to support ExxonMobil's low-carbon hydrogen initiative and reduce the CO2 footprint of oxygen production by two-thirds through innovative solutions and low-carbon electricity. In addition to serving ExxonMobil with essential gases, such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, krypton, and xenon, Air Liquide plans to expand its offerings in the rare gases market. This endeavor is aligned with Air Liquide's Advance strategic plan, emphasizing decarbonization and market expansion in the U.S. The project's success is contingent upon supportive government policies, regulatory permits, and market conditions.
