Avina Clean Hydrogen, a U.S. green hydrogen producer, has made significant progress with its 2,200 MTPD clean ammonia facility in the Texas Gulf Coast. The front-end engineering design (FEED) and front-end-loading (FEL-3) have been completed, involving key aspects like ammonia synthesis loop, hydrogen production, and renewable power integration. The project, targeting a final investment decision in 2025 and operations starting in 2028, aims to be a major player in clean ammonia production, generating 800,000 metric tons per annum. By partnering with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and EXCEL, Avina is leveraging expertise in design and construction, with a focus on sustainability and compliance with EU guidelines for renewable fuels. The facility's strategic location in Texas Gulf Coast ensures access to resources like water and transmission capacity, along with utilizing the existing energy infrastructure in the region.
