BP has entered a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to collaborate with Masdar, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Infinity Power in exploring a green hydrogen project in Egypt. As the lead developer, BP will oversee the project's operations. The consortium plans to consolidate their individual green hydrogen projects in Egypt and investigate the feasibility of a significant multi-phase initiative focused on green hydrogen development and exports. Additionally, the consortium has signed a Framework Agreement (FWA) with the Egyptian government, allowing them to conduct studies and assess the technical and commercial viability of the project. The signing took place during the Egypt-EU Investment Conference and was attended by prominent figures from the consortium and the Egyptian government, indicating a positive step towards green hydrogen development in the region.
