The JV agreement will explore various projects related to renewable energy, green hydrogen production, green ammonia production, emissions reduction for port operations, and other emerging green fuel technologies. Leveraging Sembcorp's experience in renewables and BPCL's expertise in the petroleum sector, the partnership seeks to drive innovation-led solutions for the country's energy needs. BPCL has set ambitious targets, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 and building a renewable energy portfolio of 10 GW. On the other hand, Sembcorp is dedicated to providing scalable, low-carbon solutions for a sustainable future, focusing on decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors. With Sembcorp's significant renewable assets in India amounting to 6 GW, the company is strategically positioned to facilitate large-scale, cost-effective green hydrogen production.
