Canada has pledged up to $300 million to facilitate the development of a transatlantic hydrogen trade corridor with Germany. The funds will be allocated through a competitive auction process, set to be launched by the end of 2024. This initiative, part of the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance, aims to enable Canadian companies to access German markets for clean hydrogen and ammonia. By doing so, Germany will have access to competitively priced clean energy products from Canada, which will create jobs and drive economic growth. The collaboration builds upon previous agreements, including a memorandum of understanding signed in March 2021 and the establishment of the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance in August 2022.
