Canada is making strides in clean energy by investing in the clean hydrogen sector to drive economic growth and energy innovation. The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced a $9.14 million investment in six projects to support innovation in Canada's clean hydrogen sector. The projects aim to develop technologies for low-cost, low-emission hydrogen production, utilize wind and solar assets for renewable hydrogen, and explore safe storage and transportation methods. These investments are part of Canada's efforts to accelerate the production, distribution, and use of clean fuels, including hydrogen, aligning with the country's Hydrogen Strategy to become a global clean hydrogen producer by 2050. The Minister highlighted that Canadian businesses have the ambition to provide clean energy solutions and play a significant role in the global shift towards net-zero emissions. Canada's Energy Innovation Program and the Clean Fuels Fund play essential roles in advancing clean energy technologies and growing the production of clean fuels in the country. The collaboration with international partners, such as the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance, further strengthens Canada's position as a clean energy supplier.
