Tangshan Haitai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the developer of the Zhangjiakou-Tangshan hydrogen pipeline in China, has announced that the project is progressing into the stage of geological investigation and will soon commence construction. This ambitious pipeline is set to be 1037.82 km long, starting from the Kangbao hydrogen production plant in Zhangjiakou and ending at the Caofeidian district in Tangshan city. It is designed to connect over 20 cities along its route. With a diameter of 813 mm and operating at a pressure of 7.2 MPa, the pipeline has a substantial capacity of 1.55 million tons of hydrogen per year, making it one of the largest hydrogen pipelines globally. Through this project, China demonstrates its determination to decarbonize the iron and steel industry by leveraging hydrogen metallurgy. The pipeline represents a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions in key industrial sectors.
