The Rudong offshore photovoltaic-hydrogen energy storage project in China's Jiangsu Province has officially started operations, marking a significant milestone in the country's energy sector. Owned by Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd., under CHN Energy Investment Group, this project is the largest of its kind in China, boasting a 400-megawatt capacity spread across 287 hectares. The integration of photovoltaic power generation, hydrogen production, refueling, and energy storage highlights a comprehensive approach to sustainable energy solutions. By 2025, the project aims to produce 468 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, leading to substantial coal savings and a reduction in harmful emissions like carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Utilizing coastal resources and cutting-edge technology, the project optimizes energy conversion efficiency and enhances grid stability. The innovative inclusion of hydrogen production through water electrolysis further boosts energy utilization efficiency, reinforcing the project's environmental and sustainability goals.
