Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has acquired a majority stake in the Toqlukuti’k Wind & Hydrogen project, a significant renewable energy initiative located in Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. Despite the acquisition, ABO Energy remains involved as a minority shareholder and co-developer. The project aims to produce competitively priced green hydrogen and ammonia, taking advantage of the region's wind resources and support from federal and provincial authorities. Toqlukuti’k, with its exclusive rights to develop on designated Crown land, has garnered support from local communities and signed agreements with the Miawpukek First Nation. The project, named to reflect collaboration, is poised to bring economic benefits with thousands of construction jobs and long-term employment opportunities. This partnership is not the first between CIP and ABO Energy, showcasing their dedication to advancing renewable energy projects. With a focus on green hydrogen and ammonia production, the Toqlukuti’k project contributes to Canada's shift towards a carbon-neutral future and positions itself to meet European green energy demands.
