Indian engineering solutions company Cyient has been chosen to provide engineering services for a groundbreaking hydrogen production and distribution project at Langstranda in Bodø, Norway. The initiative, led by a joint venture between Norwegian company GreenH and German asset manager Luxcara, is focused on supplying green hydrogen to the maritime industry and heavy transport sectors. Cyient's involvement is expected to optimize project delivery and enhance efficiency throughout its lifecycle. The project includes plans to supply pressurized green hydrogen directly to a maritime vessel, specifically the Vestfjorden ferry connection operated by Torghatten Nord, starting operations in 2026. With a substantial financing package of NOK 1 billion already secured, GreenH finalized the investment decision for the project at the beginning of 2025. The COO of GreenH expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Cyient to actualize their hydrogen vision in Bodø, emphasizing the importance of detailed engineering for the success of the venture.
