With a €150 million development plan in place from 2020 to 2030, the region is actively promoting the research, production, and utilization of green hydrogen. Fenwick, a key contributor, is pushing for the replication of this system in other French regions to bolster the growth of the sector. By bringing together hydrogen stakeholders, including producers and users, the region aims to create a sustainable local ecosystem that generates employment opportunities. The region's support schemes, initiated in collaboration with industry leaders, aim to address mobility and infrastructure challenges faced by businesses transitioning to hydrogen. This includes offering financial aid for the purchase or rental of hydrogen-powered vehicles, with a budget of €2 million until December 31, 2025. Moreover, Occitanie's commitment to green hydrogen production aligns with the goal of decarbonizing industries and mobility, aiming to meet 20% of national energy demand by 2050. The initiative is seen as a pilot action that could have a significant impact on the entire region and serve as a model for similar projects nationwide.
