PFC Consulting Ltd has established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Mundra I Transmission Ltd, to serve as a special purpose vehicle for the development of an Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) - Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) scheme in Gujarat focused on supporting green hydrogen plants. With a project outlay of Rs.2,817 crore and a 36-month gestation period, this initiative is vital for the transmission of renewable energy to upcoming green hydrogen and ammonia production facilities in the Mundra region. The project involves expanding the Navinal GIS substation by incorporating interconnecting transformers and a 765kV double-circuit line spanning 70 km to connect to the Bhuj substation. This additional supply of 1,500 MW will complement the existing 3,000 MW capacity to cater to the growing demand from green hydrogen and ammonia units. The ongoing bidding process, extended multiple times, is set to conclude on January 8, 2025. The successful development of this project is crucial for boosting the region's green hydrogen production capacity and signifies a significant investment in sustainable energy infrastructure.
