Air Liquide Egypt and United Energy Group (UEG) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on sustainable energy transition projects in Egypt. The primary focus of this collaboration is the production of low-carbon ammonia utilizing renewable hydrogen. This initiative is significant for Egypt as it solidifies the country's position as a leader in the renewable energy sector. With its abundant renewable resources and supportive policy environment, Egypt is well-suited to emerge as a global hub for clean energy solutions. UEG, a company with a global presence in renewable energy projects, has identified Egypt as a strategic market for their operations and is actively seeking partnerships in the energy sector. Air Liquide, leveraging its expertise in energy transition technologies and long-standing presence in Egypt, will play a crucial role in supporting UEG to develop ammonia production based on renewable energy sources. Air Liquide will provide nitrogen for the project and collaborate with UEG to address the intermittency of renewable energy, ensuring stable and competitive ammonia production processes. The collaboration between the two companies aligns with the global trend of advancing green hydrogen and ammonia production as essential components of the future energy landscape. This partnership signifies a mutual commitment to developing large-scale renewable hydrogen and ammonia projects in Egypt, further establishing the country as a key player in the global clean energy market. The Vice President and General Manager of Green Hydrogen at UEG, Gu Xiaodong, highlighted the importance of the partnership in expanding green hydrogen projects in Egypt. Prean Chetty, General Manager of Air Liquide Egypt, emphasized the company's dedication to supporting Egypt's energy transition towards a low-carbon future.
