Australian space technology company Fleet Space has announced a groundbreaking partnership with US-based natural hydrogen company Koloma, backed by industry giants Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos. The collaboration aims to revolutionize the exploration of natural hydrogen reserves by generating real-time 3D subsurface imaging of hydrogen-forming geological formations on a global scale. Koloma's recent international expansion into Australia, supported by a US$23.8 million capital raise, highlights the increasing significance of natural hydrogen as a renewable energy source. Australia's pivotal role in the hydrogen sector is emphasized by hosting a significant 20% of all announced hydrogen projects globally. Fleet Space's ExoSphere technology, capable of providing 3D data imaging up to 7km in depth, will play a crucial role in this partnership. White hydrogen, also known as geologic hydrogen, is seen as a promising renewable energy source as it produces only water when burned.
