GAC Spain, a prominent provider of shipping and logistics services in the Iberian Peninsula, has established a new office at the Port of Huelva to bolster its support for customers in Spain's shipping and energy sectors. The office offers specialized services including ship agency, husbandry, bunker fuels, customs clearance, and freight services, focusing on dry and liquid bulk customers, gas carriers, and green energy projects. The expansion to Huelva complements GAC Spain's presence in Algeciras, catering to vessels passing through the Strait of Gibraltar and supporting Spain's growing green energy sector. The Port of Huelva, a key energy hub, has witnessed significant growth in handling goods and bulk liquids, positioning itself as a vital player in conventional and renewable fuels. It is part of the Andalusia Green Hydrogen Valley, hosting a monumental renewable hydrogen project spearheaded by CEPSA. This project aims to boost sustainable energy by constructing green hydrogen production facilities with significant electrolysis capacity. Moreover, the port's Sustainable Cold Logistics Hub is an innovative circular economy project that utilizes residual cold from the LNG port terminal to power refrigerated storage facilities, thereby enhancing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs. Overall, the Port of Huelva's developments underscore its importance in Spain's energy transition and sustainable logistics operations.
