GAC Spain has expanded its operations by establishing a new branch at the Port of Huelva in southwest Spain to cater to the country's growing green energy sector. The new site will provide a variety of logistics services to customers, including ship agency, husbandry, bunker fuels, customs clearance, and freight services, with a focus on ship spares logistics. Huelva, a significant port for both conventional and renewable fuels, is part of the Andalusia Green Hydrogen Valley project, which is one of the largest in Europe and aims to produce 300,000 tons of green hydrogen annually. This initiative, led by CEPSA, plans to build two green hydrogen plants in Huelva and Cadiz with a combined 2-GW electrolysis capacity. These facilities will not only produce green hydrogen but also boost the production of biofuels and derivatives to help in decarbonizing manufacturing and heavy road transport. GAC's presence in Huelva and Algeciras is crucial as infrastructure development for green hydrogen and renewable energy gains momentum in southern Spain. Sergio Delatorre, the managing director of GAC Spain, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting its customers by leveraging global reach and local knowledge. The Andalusia Green Hydrogen Valley project is a significant step towards fostering sustainable energy practices and reducing carbon emissions in the region.
