The PtX Development Fund, managed by KfW and KGAL, has allocated a €30 million grant to HydroJeel for the Jorf Hydrogen Platform in Morocco. This initiative aims to promote hydrogen projects in developing and emerging economies, with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to clean energy sources. The project is expected to produce 100,000 tons of green ammonia annually by 2026, which will help in reducing around 300,000 teq of CO2 equivalent per year. Additionally, the project will contribute to improving cost structures and resilience in Morocco by decreasing the country's reliance on fossil fuels. The grant agreement was signed in the presence of various dignitaries, including the Ambassador of Germany in Morocco and the State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. The project's local impact is highlighted through the creation of jobs, development of new value chains, and the establishment of technological collaborations with local research and educational institutions. This endeavor not only aligns with ambitious national and international climate goals but also showcases Germany's commitment to supporting sustainable energy projects worldwide.
