Honda is set to introduce its Class 8 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Concept at the upcoming Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, held from May 20-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This unveiling marks the start of a new project aimed at producing fuel cell-powered products for the North American market. The company's global goal of achieving zero environmental impact by 2050 includes a focus on hydrogen, with the Class 8 truck concept representing a key component of Honda's broader hydrogen business strategy. The truck concept is powered by innovative Honda fuel cell systems, a result of a decade-long collaboration with GM. These systems, now in mass production at a joint venture facility in Michigan, offer improved performance, durability, and cost-efficiency compared to previous models. Honda has outlined four core domains for the initial utilization of its new fuel cell system, emphasizing the importance of hydrogen in various applications. Apart from showcasing the Class 8 truck concept at the expo, Honda will also present other zero-emission products like the 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV, the Honda Fuel Cell System, and the Autonomous Work Vehicle. The company's commitment to expanding the use of hydrogen highlights its dedication to sustainability and technological innovation in the automotive industry.
