The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) in Visakhapatnam is set to host the Indo-US workshop on hydrogen and global decarbonisation in collaboration with Stony Brook University from May 21 to 23. The workshop, spearheaded by IIPE director Prof. Shalivahan, targets industry executives in the energy sector to deliberate on hydrogen's significance in global decarbonisation efforts. Sessions at the three-day event will cover climate change, fossil fuels, and decarbonisation strategies with a specific focus on the hydrogen value chain. The impressive speaker lineup includes experts from academia, industry, and policymakers, with Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya, former director at NTPC, gracing the event as the chief guest. This initiative highlights the critical role of hydrogen in achieving decarbonisation goals and provides a platform for fostering international collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas in the energy industry.
