India and the European Union have solidified a strategic roadmap for cooperation in the green hydrogen sector, focusing on infrastructure development, regulatory alignment, technology exchange, and supply chain enhancement. The discussions took place during the 10th meeting of the India-EU Energy Panel in Brussels, outlining a 'work plan' for the third phase of the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership 2025-28. The collaboration targets key areas such as green hydrogen, offshore wind energy, regional connectivity, electricity market integration, smart grids, energy efficiency, and energy and climate diplomacy. Emphasizing joint efforts, the partnership will assess infrastructure feasibility, promote regulatory and technological harmonization, and fortify supply chains. Both India and the EU have engaged in various joint initiatives and commitments, including participating in international conferences on green hydrogen. India's exclusive partnership in the European Hydrogen Week 2024 highlights the commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Moreover, the long-term research commitments aim to drive innovation in clean energy projects. The cooperation signifies a positive step towards achieving shared climate and energy transition goals.
