Valued at ₹321 crore, with half of the investment subsidized by the Indian government, the project marks a crucial step in the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The plant, part of a triad of pilot ventures under the mission, is designed to generate 50 tons of steel daily through the utilization of green hydrogen, employing direct reduced iron (DRI) vertical shaft technology. By substituting conventional fossil fuels with green hydrogen, the process will effectively eliminate CO₂ emissions, significantly aiding in the reduction of carbon footprints.
