A group of Year 8 students from Outwood Riverside in Tees Valley embarked on a tour of the massive Teesworks development as part of their innovative ‘Big Big Project.’ The students are participating in a career project where they compete to design a Hydrogen Super Place, focusing on producing and distributing hydrogen. Teesworks, a 2,500-acre site, was selected by the students for its connectivity and existing green energy projects. Each student has a designated role in the project team, working towards a creative presentation showcasing their hydrogen facility. The project is supported by Teesside Freeport and includes mentor meetings with PD Ports for feedback. The students are enthusiastic and dedicated, with a focus on research and innovation. The school aims to inspire students about local career opportunities. If successful, the students will advance to finals and compete with other schools in designing the best Hydrogen Super Place.
