Invenergy has announced the launch of its first clean hydrogen project, the Sauk Valley Hydrogen facility in Rock Falls, Illinois. This 5-acre facility has reached commercial operations, with the capability to produce up to 40 metric tons of clean hydrogen annually and store up to 400 kilograms on-site. The project, powered by Invenergy's solar facility and Ohmium International's electrolyzer technology, aims to supply clean hydrogen to various industries. Initial hydrogen supply is being used at the adjacent Nelson Energy Center, and future offsite deliveries are planned, including to Aether Fuels. Invenergy's Vice President of Hydrogen, Jon Horek, emphasizes the importance of this project in supplying 'hard-to-abate' sectors with clean hydrogen at scale. The collaboration with Aether Fuels highlights the company's market capabilities and strong partnerships. The Sauk Valley Hydrogen facility is seen as a significant step towards a sustainable energy future, with industry leaders expressing enthusiasm for the positive impact it will have.
