The MissionH24 project, a collaboration between GreenGT, Le Mans 24 Hours organizer Automobile Club de l’Ouest, and Aslan, is on track to introduce the H24EVO hydrogen fuel cell prototype to the racing world. The goal is to have the car on a circuit in 2025, leading to a possible racing debut in 2026. Development is progressing towards finalizing the design, focusing on optimizing aerodynamics and performance. Despite challenges and delays in milestones, the team is determined to meet its target. Aslan highlighted the complexity of adapting aerodynamics to hydrogen technology, emphasizing the importance of fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance. The project, initiated in 2018 with the LMPH2G prototype, aims to showcase hydrogen's potential as a viable alternative power source in motorsport. While regulations for the proposed class are pending, MissionH24 remains at the forefront of hydrogen power demonstrations. Collaborations with projects like Alpenglow Hy4 provide valuable learning experiences, highlighting shared aspects of hydrogen utilization. The upcoming Le Mans demonstrations will feature various hydrogen prototypes, including H24 and Alpenglow, alongside Ligier Bosch JS2 RH2 and Foenix H2, demonstrating the industry's increasing focus on hydrogen technology in motorsport.
