The project, led by OCP Group, a major player in phosphate and fertilizer industries, is a pioneering endeavor in sustainable industrial growth. Positioned as the world's first Power-to-X green ammonia program, the Tarfaya project encompasses an impressive array of infrastructure, including substantial wind and solar power facilities, hydrogen and ammonia plants, and battery storage, all operated using renewable energy sources across a vast area. This initiative is a vital component of OCP Group's green growth program, with a substantial investment of $12 billion earmarked for the 2023-2027 period, driving towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. The Tarfaya project's ambitions extend beyond production metrics, with plans for a new city to support the project's workforce, emphasizing a holistic approach to community development.
