North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea is taking significant steps towards the development of hydrogen infrastructure. They are initiating a project to establish a hydrogen piping network that will distribute hydrogen from the Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex to Daegu and other parts of the province. The province aims to expand the hydrogen industry by supporting companies in the hydrogen sector and exploring new business models. Uljin-gun is actively promoting the creation of a hydrogen city, which involves building a clean hydrogen production cluster connected to nuclear power. Additionally, plans include integrating hydrogen into various aspects of the city such as residential welfare facilities, housing, transportation, and culture. To support these initiatives, North Gyeongsang Province plans to invest a total of 40 billion won, with 20 billion won coming from state funds, to transform Uljin into a hydrogen city. Furthermore, Pohang's Blue Valley National Industrial Complex, designated as a hydrogen-specialized complex, is investing in a hydrogen fuel cell power generation cluster to attract companies. The complex offers incentives such as transfer subsidies and private land contracts to companies relocating there, aiming to foster research and development in the hydrogen field.
