Qair, a renewable energy company, has secured a parcel at HAROPA Port in Le Havre, France, to develop its e-methanol production project known as Methavert. The project aims to establish renewable hydrogen and methanol production within the industrial port area of Le Havre, focusing on supporting maritime decarbonisation and other high-emission industries. The facility at the 60-hectare site in Rogerville will initially produce 200,000 tonnes of e-methanol and integrate with local infrastructure, leveraging existing methanol storage facilities. This initiative is in line with the 'France 2030 industrial sites' designation and government support for industrial projects. Qair's CEO expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting the company's ambition to become a significant player in the hydrogen and e-molecule sector.
