The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) revealed the outcomes of its auction to select green hydrogen producers for establishing production facilities in India under the SIGHT Program. The auction awarded a total annual production capacity of 450,000 MT for green hydrogen, with a maximum allocated incentive of ₹22.39 billion. This initiative aimed to boost green hydrogen production and its derivatives in India, offering two pathways for bidders to choose from: technology-agnostic or biomass-based. Nine companies secured awards under Bucket 1, while Matrix Gas and Renewables emerged as the winner under Bucket 2. Successful bidders must set up production facilities within 36 months, with a focus on rapid expansion, technological advancement, and cost reduction. Notable winners from previous auctions included Reliance Green Hydrogen, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and JSW Neo Energy, showcasing a growing interest in green hydrogen production in India.
