Technip Energies has secured a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract from BP for the H2Teesside project in Teesside, UK. Mario Tommaselli, Senior Vice President at Technip Energies, highlighted their expertise in technology integration for large-scale projects like H2Teesside. The company aims to provide innovative solutions aligned with the UK's decarbonisation targets by leveraging their experience in hydrogen and carbon capture technologies. The final investment decision is expected in 2025, and if selected, Technip Energies will handle the complete Engineering Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) package for the project. H2Teesside forms a vital part of the East Coast Cluster in the UK, with plans to connect the hydrogen production and distribution pipeline with other decarbonisation initiatives in the region. Additionally, the CO2 captured at the H2Teesside facility will be sent to the NEP CO2 gathering system, contributing to the broader decarbonisation efforts. This project signifies a step towards achieving the UK's ambitious decarbonisation goals and highlights the growing importance of hydrogen and carbon capture technologies in the energy industry.
