The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) recently hosted a hydrogen conference with the theme 'Towards a Circular Hydrogen Economy' to discuss the current status and opportunities in the hydrogen energy sector. The event, funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund, aimed to address the growing industry demand for hydrogen energy applications and its role in sustainable development and climate change mitigation. THEi's President, Prof Alan LAU Kin-tak, emphasized the importance of hydrogen in the transition to cleaner energy sources and announced the launch of the 'Hydrogen Energy Education and Talent Development Centre.' The Centre, scheduled to open in August, will feature exhibitions and learning facilities to inspire interest in hydrogen energy careers. International experts delivered keynote speeches, promoting collaboration and sharing insights on Hong Kong's hydrogen economy development. The event also included participation from local experts and organizations, aiming to advance hydrogen research and applications in Hong Kong. Overall, the conference showcased THEi's commitment to advancing the hydrogen economy and fostering a sustainable future through education, innovation, and industry collaboration.
