TotalEnergies has inaugurated its eighth biomethane production unit in Fontaine-le-Dun, France, injecting 153 gigawatt-hours of biomethane annually into Natran's gas network, decarbonizing energy consumption. The company's partnership with Cristal Union focuses on circular economy practices, utilizing production residues for biogas production and providing sustainable fertilizers to partner farms. Additionally, in the Netherlands, TotalEnergies and Air Liquide have formed joint ventures to produce 45,000 tons/year of green hydrogen, with significant CO2 emissions reductions in refineries. The projects involve the construction of electrolyzers near refineries, utilizing renewable power sources. These initiatives align with TotalEnergies' commitment to decarbonize hydrogen consumption by its European refineries by 2030, showcasing its integrated electricity capabilities.
