TotalEnergies and Air Products have joined forces in a significant 15-year agreement for the supply of 70,000 tons of green hydrogen per year in Europe, commencing in 2030. This partnership aligns with TotalEnergies' initiative to decarbonize its European refineries by utilizing green hydrogen, which is forecasted to prevent 700,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. Air Products, renowned globally for its hydrogen expertise, has invested substantially in energy transition projects, positioning itself as a leading supplier in the low carbon hydrogen market. The collaboration also includes a commitment to renewable power, with a specific Power Purchase Agreement for 150 MW from a solar project in Texas, with plans for additional agreements in the UK, Poland, and France. TotalEnergies' overarching strategy is to diminish its refineries' carbon footprint by incorporating green and low carbon hydrogen, which is anticipated to result in a significant reduction of around five million tons of CO2 emissions by 2030.
