Statera Energy has proposed the Kintore Hydrogen project in Aberdeenshire, aiming to be the largest green hydrogen project in Europe. The project will use surplus renewable energy to produce green hydrogen, aiding in balancing the UK's renewables-focused power system. With an initial operational capacity of 500 MW by 2028 and a planned 3 GW total capacity, Kintore Hydrogen could save 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 annually. The project is expected to create thousands of jobs during construction and contribute significantly to the UK economy. Additionally, the project will assist in the decarbonization of carbon-intensive industries and power generation, supporting the country's transition to a greener economy. Statera Energy envisions Kintore Hydrogen as a key player in the growth of the UK's hydrogen economy, promoting energy independence and industrial supply chain development. By strategically locating the project in Scotland, close to abundant wind and water resources, cost savings of £5 billion are forecasted for consumers through the utilization of hydrogen electrolyzers.
