Entergy Texas is responding to the growing energy demand in Southeast Texas by proposing the construction of two state-of-the-art natural gas power plants named Legend and Lone Star. These projects are part of Entergy's Southeast Texas Energy Plan (STEP Ahead) and aim to add 1,207 megawatts of generation capacity to the power grid by 2028. The combined investment in these plants is $2.2 billion, with projected savings of approximately $370 million for customers. The economic benefits of these power plants are estimated to be $2.8 billion for the region, and they will create employment opportunities for local communities.
